I'm loathe to put this under fanart because I wasn't doing it for any fannish purpose. This was a study in colour.

Hopefully the range of colours is visible (my monitor's all screwy and makes things look completely different to how they look in real life!). I've kept the full view quite large because overall it looks better smaller, but there's a lot of detail that I want to show.

I think I'm getting better at portraits... Practice makes perfect, eh?

Yes it was. And I worked like a dog all day today so I could paint all evening, guilt free.

really good, wonderful colour and good choice of subject, the black cloak brings out the colours really well.

Have you seen Paul in Gangster No.1? I'd suggest having a stab at painting him from that although if i recall, the artwork from it is far from challenging.

Er, no... haven't seen that!

I'm trying to step away from painting famous people. I don't want to go down that line, they're just handy because I can instantly see where I've got a detail wrong. I'm most interested in finding unusual faces - older ones where I can work in texture and expression! But, while I'm still learning celebrities will do me fine :D

Absolutely fantastic! This deffinately goes beyond a simple piece of fanart, the colours are amazing and there's a really sinister feeling coming from the face, I love it!
